ISABELLA MORALES

A rising sophomore at Westwood Christian School in Miami, Florida, Isabella Morales is currently on her school’s Superior Honor Roll with a 3.6 GPA and has been a state spelling bee champion for 6 straight years! Isa is an avid volleyball player as well as a member of her school’s track and field team. At school she is also a member of the Reading Club, Photography Club and Cooking Club.

This state FACCS Fine Arts champion, is a spirited singer and is also a competitive dancer and especially loves contemporary and jazz dance. She has won high accolades as a dancer and has earned many Platinum and Gold placements in regional and national dance competitions. She also enjoys modeling, acrobatics and going to the beach. Upon graduation, she has her sights set on attending Harvard University and attaining a Law degree and using her bilingual speaking skills to pursue a career as an international criminal justice attorney.

Isa is proud to be the founder and President of her school’s first anti-bullying club. Her monthly meetings at school provide a refuge and social meeting space for students to share their struggles with bullying as well as a therapeutic outreach to help those that are experiencing bullying. The club is also active in promoting a “safe bully free zone” for students with monthly campaigns such as sharing posters, talking at school assemblies and working with school administration on bullying issues.

She is particularly proud of being active in her community, which has always been a priority in her life. Isa is currently the Ronald McDonald House South Florida Ambassador, as well as attends monthly Farm Share events and helps at local adult day care centers. She is also a member of her church youth group and enjoys working on projects focused on helping local youth. She looks up to Malala Yousafzai as her inspiration for her endless spirit of promoting educational rights for young girls across the globe and for her steadfast perseverance in the face of conflict.

This year, Isa is determined to follow her favorite life motto, “being an original and having a positive attitude will help you leave your mark everywhere you go” by embracing and sharing UNM’s Crown Cares anti-bullying platform not only within her home state of Florida, but to also travel to as many state pageants as possible and inspire teens across the United States to take pride in who they are.
